A Palestinian man from the West Bank village of Beit Ula was fatally shot on Thursday evening while being arrested by Israeli security forces.
The man, who was in his thirties, was identified by the Palestinian Health Ministry as Mohammed Asrahin.

According to Palestinian reports, an Israeli soldier shot Asrahin during a clash that developed between the Palestinian's family and the troops who arrived at his home to arrest him.

The troops took Asrahin away, and the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories later informed his family that he died.

The IDF and the Border Guard said that troops making arrests in Beit Ula on Thursday managed to apprehend one suspect and shot another suspect who tried to flee. The incident is under investigation, the security forces said.

Meanwhile, Palestinian officials in Gaza told Haaretz that Hamas has boosted patrols along the Israeli border after a mortar shell was fired from the enclave toward southern Israel the day before. In response to the fire, Israel struck three targets in the Strip on Wednesday night. According to witnesses, no one was wounded in the IDF strike.
