RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least six Palestinians in raids in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday night, as Palestinian Muslims celebrated Eid al-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Local sources told Ma’an that Israeli forces detained a wounded Palestinian after raiding his house in the Qalandiya refugee camp in the central occupied West Bank.
The youth, identified as 21-year-old Salah Lutfi Hamad, was one of at least four Palestinians injured on Monday when Israeli forces raided Qalandiya in order to demolish the homes of two slain Palestinians who allegedly carried out stabbing attacks last year.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed to Ma’an that one Palestinian had been detained in Qalandiya.
She added that two Palestinians were detained in the city of al-Bireh, two in the Bethlehem-area refugee camp of Aida, and one in the Hebron district village of Khursa.
According to Palestinian prisoners’ rights organization Addameer, 7,000 Palestinians were detained by Israel as of May. The NGO estimates that 40 percent of Palestinian men have been held in Israeli custody at one point in their lives.

Israeli soldiers invaded, on Thursday at dawn, Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, and kidnapped a young wounded Palestinian man.
Local sources in Qalandia said the soldiers broke into the home of Salah Lutfi Hamad, 21, and kidnapped him, after violently searching the property.
Hamad was shot by the soldiers, last Monday, when the army invaded the camp and demolished the homes of Anan Abu Habsa and Issa Assaf, who were killed on December 24, 2015, after carrying out a stabbing attack in Jerusalem.
At least four Palestinians were shot by live army fire during the invasion, while many others suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

Israeli soldiers invaded, on Wednesday evening and earlier on Thursday, the West Bank districts of Bethlehem and Hebron, and kidnapped seven Palestinians, including a woman, and two children playing with toy guns.
The Bethlehem office of the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported that several Israeli military vehicles invaded Aida refugee camp, on Thursday at dawn, searched many homes and kidnapped two Palestinians, identified as Saleh Ibrahim Al-As’ad, 17, and Ahmad
Clashes also took place in the camp after the soldiers invaded it; the army fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades, while local youngsters hurled stones at the military vehicles.
In related news, the soldiers completely closed the main road leading to Janata town, east of Bethlehem, by placing concrete blocks and sand hills.
Furthermore, the Hebron office of the PPS said the soldiers kidnapped a mother of three children, identified as Hanadi Mahmoud Rasheed, 22, from Yatta town, south of Hebron.
The woman was kidnapped near the Ibrahimi Mosque, in Hebron city, after the soldiers claimed “she carried a sharp object in her purse.
On Wednesday evening, the soldiers kidnapped a Palestinian, identified as Yousef Safi Hamdan, from Kharsa village, south of Hebron, after the army invaded the village, and searched many homes.
In addition, the soldiers kidnapped two Palestinian children, identified as Ibrahim Nader Abu Odeh, 16, and Mohammad Mustafa Jaber, 14, while playing with toy guns in their neighborhood, close to Keryat Arba’ colony, east of Hebron city.
Another Palestinian, identified as Mohammad Yazeed Jaber, 20, was also kidnapped in Hebron city. The soldiers handcuffed and blindfolded the three Palestinians, and took them to a police station in Keryat Arba’.
