RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 11 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem in Wednesday night raids, Israeli and Palestinian sources said.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) reported that four Palestinians had been detained in the central West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh, identifying the detainees as Rami Beiram, 35, Muhammad Najib Haddad, 23, Samer Samih Darraj, 23, and Jamal Khamis Khasib, 45.
Khasib is the father of journalist Nasser Khasib, who was detained on Sunday night.
PPS went on to list two Palestinians detained in the Qalqiliya district, identified as Ali Abd al-Rahim Daoud and Muhammad Omar Qashmar.
Israeli forces also detained Muhammad Akram al-Jaabari from the district of Hebron, PPS said.
The organization added that Wahib Dandis, Rashrash Ali Ubeidat and Firas Hasan Ubeidat were detained in occupied East Jerusalem.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed five total detentions in the West Bank on Wednesday night, listing two detentions south of the city of Ramallah, two in Qalqiliya, and one east of Bethlehem.
According to prisoners’ rights organization Addameer, at least 7,000 Palestinians were held in Israeli prisons as of May. The group estimates that 40 percent of Palestinian men have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported that Israeli soldiers have kidnapped, earlier on Thursday, at least ten Palestinians, in different parts of the occupied West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem.
The PPS said the soldiers invaded various areas in the central West Bank district of Ramallah, searched many homes and kidnapped Rami Bairam, 35, Mohammad Najeeb Haddad, 23, Samer Samih Darraj, 23, and Jamal Hussein Khaseeb, the father of imprisoned journalist Nasser Khaseeb.
It added that the soldiers also invaded and searched homes in occupied Jerusalem, and kidnapped three Palestinians, identified as Wahib Dandees, Rashrash Ali Obeidat, and Firas Hasan Obeidat.
The soldiers also invaded the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, and kidnapped two Palestinians, identified as Omar Mohammad Qashmar and Ali Abdul-Rahim Daoud.
In Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank, the soldiers also invaded and searched homes, and kidnapped one Palestinian, identified as Mohammad Akram Ja’bari.
