Description
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces Friday morning detained a Palestinian man with two children already imprisoned by Israel in the town of Silwad in the eastern part of the occupied West Bank district of Ramallah, local sources told Ma'an.
Israeli forces blew off one the doors before raiding the house of Mahmoud Jumaa Saleh Hamed, 52, according to Mahmoud's wife Shahla Hamed.
Shahla told Ma'an her husband was held in a separate room for interrogations, before Israeli forces detained him.
Two of Mahmoud’s children are held in Israeli prison: Mujaheed Hamed, 24, was sentenced to nine years in Israeli prison while Abed Hamed, 23, was recently detained by Israeli forces but has not yet been sentenced.
Hamed’s wife added that Israeli forces previously detained her husband three times and he had spent a total of nine previous years in Israeli prison.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma'an she would look into reports on the incident.
Around 7,000 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons, the majority of whom were detained in predawn raids that are carried out by Israeli military forces on a near-nightly basis.
