BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces overnight Sunday detained 27 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank during night raids, locals sources told Ma'an.
The bulk of the detentions took place in Silwad, a small village northeast of Ramallah in the central West Bank, where Israeli forces detained 13 Palestinians during night raids, locals said.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the 13 detentions, but could only provide details on two of the detainees who were taken in for being alleged "Hamas operatives."
Of the 13 detained, 12 have been identified as: Numan Saleh Hamed, Majd Saleh Hamed, Ibrahim al-Salhi, Ibrahim al-Natur, Abdul-Aziz Hamed, Anwar Shwikia, Zakariya Adeeb Hammad, Majd Khalaf Hammad, Haitham Khalaf Ayyad, Hussien Shahim Hamed, Asad Nimer Hamed and Abdul-Qader Yahya Hammad.
Another two Palestinians were detained in the Ramallah district in the villages of Kharbatha al-Musbah and Beit Surik.
In the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron, another six Palestinians were detained.
In addition, Israeli forces detained one man from Marah Rabah village in Bethlehem, two more in the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, two in Qalqilya and another in Nablus.
Locals sources added that the detainees were transferred to Israeli intelligence for investigation.
Israeli forces regularly carry out detention raids across the occupied Palestinian territory, with the UN documenting at least 347 such raids in the last two weeks of December 2015 alone.

Israeli soldiers have kidnapped overnight, and on Monday morning, 32 Palestinians in various invasions and extensive military searches of homes in different parts of the occupied West Bank, and occupied Jerusalem, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported.
The PPS said dozens of soldiers invaded the Ramallah and al-Bireh District, in central West Bank, searched dozens of homes and kidnapped 14 Palestinians, after interrogating them and their families.
It added that 13 of the kidnapped Palestinians were taken prisoner in Silwad town.
They have been identified as Ahmad Siraj, Noman Saleh Hamed, Ibrahim Salhi, Majd Abdul-Rahman Hamed, Ibrahim Ahmad Hamed, Abdul-Aziz Hamed, Zakariyya Adeeb Hammad, Anwar Mohammad Shweika, Majd Khalaf Ayyad, Haitham Khalaf Ayyad, Hussein Hamed, As’ad Hamed, and Abdul-Qader Yahya Hammad.
The soldiers also invaded Beit Surik nearby town, searched many homes, and kidnapped Yazan Yasser Tarri, 20.
The PPS added that the soldiers also invaded various Palestinian communities in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, stormed and searched many homes, and kidnapped eleven Palestinians.
The kidnapped Palestinians have been identified as Moayyad Abdul-Fattah al-Atrash, Islam Ezzeddin Mahareeq, Khaled Mohammad al-Jondi, Ziad Mohammad Nawaj’a, Hazem Abu Sheikha, 28, Nasser Abu Sheikha, 39, Mohammad Khalil Abu Sheikha, 48, Ismael Yousef Awawda, 65, Omar Adel Hreizat, Mohammad Issa Hreizat, and a young woman identified as Nivien Mohsen al-Ja’bari, 18.
In Tulkarem, in the northern part of the West Bank, the soldiers kidnapped three Palestinians identified as Abada Morad Shadeed, 24, Saty Shafe’ E’meir and Mojahed Rebhi Jarab.
In Nablus district, also in the northern part of the West Bank, the soldiers kidnapped Mahmoud Tabbouq, after storming and searching his home.
Another Palestinian, identified as Amjad Anan Hmeidan, 20, was kidnapped from his home in Salfit, in central West Bank.
In Bethlehem, the soldiers kidnapped Moath Mahmoud Sheikh, 23, from his home in Marah Rabah town.
In occupied Jerusalem, the soldiers searched homes and kidnapped a Palestinian child, identified as Issa Ferawi, 15, from the Old City.
