Occupied Jerusalem, (PIC)-- IOF troops raided on Sunday afternoon the Ras neighbourhood of the suburb of Silwan in occupied Jerusalem and searched a number of homes and the offices of a number of local organisations. They raided the Islamic Club in Silwan and ransacked it and broke furniture and equipment.
Fakhri Abu Diab, member of the committee for the defence of the land of Silwan, said that the occupation troops also raided the home of Kefah Sarhan, ransacked it and confiscated his personal computer as well as CD's and DVD's of his children. They also confiscated a large sum of money that Sarhan got from his employer at the end of his employment with the YMCA.
The occupation troops had raided the Jerusalem Institute for Development in Beit Hanina where Sarhan worked and arrested him.
IOF troops on Sunday evening also raided the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem, toured the streets and harassed passers by, stopping and questioning them at random.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli occupation military vehicles penetrated the eastern district of Tulkarem and took position around Zeid mosque and penetrated the Nablus road opposite Tulkarem refugee camp to the east of the city.
The sources also said that occupation soldiers stopped and questioned passers by at random for about an hour, after which they left.
The same sources said that the occupation military vehicles were belted with stones and fire bombs by local youth.
