HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 44 Palestinians in multiple predawn raids across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, Israeli and Palestinian sources said.

Palestinian security sources identified two Palestinians detained in Jenin in the northern West Bank as Qais Mazen al-Saadi and Taher Jradat.

In Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, popular committee spokesperson Muhammad Ayyad Awad told Ma'an that four Palestinians has been detained.

They were identified as Nabil Hammad Abu Mariya, 30, Muhab Ibrahim Issa Bahar, 21, Muhammad Ayish Abu Mariya, 15, and his brother Muayyad, 17.

The brothers' father, Ayish Abu Mariya, their 11-year-old brother, Malik, and another resident of Beit Ummar, Ahmad Khalil Abu Hashim, were also delivered summons demanding that they go to Etzion detention center on Tuesday morning for questioning.

In the south of Hebron city, another three detainees were identified as Naim Abed al-Rajabi, Rani Jihad al-Rajabi, and Majd Wael Ajlouni.
An Israeli army spokesperson said that in total, at least 44 Palestinians had been detained overnight.

This included two in Jenin, three in Nablus, one in Qalqiliya, 10 in Ramallah, 12 in Bethlehem, and 15 in Hebron.

She said that two Palestinians in northwest Nablus and one in northwest Ramallah were "Hamas operatives," while the others were detained for "suspected illegal activity."

The latest detention raids brings the total number of Palestinians detained by Israeli forces to well over 1,000 since the beginning of the month.

On Monday, Palestinian prisoners' rights group Addameer told Ma'an that they were aware of at least 988 Palestinians detained in October, including 147 children.

More than half of those detentions were in the occupied West Bank, with a further 258 arrests in occupied East Jerusalem and 152 inside Israel.

While a number of detainees were later released, Addameer estimated that there were now around 6,300 Palestinians in Israel's prisons, up from 5,620 at the end of last month.

Five Palestinians kidnapped in Jerusalem

Israeli soldiers kidnapped, on Monday evening, five young Palestinians, including a 13 years of age child, after storming and searching their homes, in occupied Jerusalem, and summoned several others for interrogation.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan (Silwanic) has reported that the soldiers kidnapped Adnan Eyad Rajabi, 13 years of age, from his family's home in the Central Neighborhood, in Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The soldiers also invaded Ras al-'Amoud neighborhood, in Silwan, and kidnapped Fares Nassar Husseini, 17, while a young man, identified as Raed Jaber, was kidnapped in Jerusalem's Old City.

In related news, the Israeli Prison Authority issued an arbitrary Administrative Detention order, holding captive Ali Sabri Abu Diab, 20, without charges or trial.

Two young Palestinians, identified as Ehab Shafiq Abu Dheim and Samer Omar Abu Dheim, were detained and interrogated, and the police decide to remand them for further interrogation.

Including Two Children, Israeli Soldiers Kidnap Nine Palestinians In Hebron

Dozens of Israeli military vehicles invaded, on Tuesday at dawn, various Palestinian communities in different parts of the southern West Bank district of Hebron, and kidnapped nine Palestinians, including two children.

The soldiers stormed and ransacked several homes, and a store, in Hebron city, interrogated many Palestinians, and kidnapped five Palestinians.

The kidnapped residents have been identified a Majd Wael al-'Ajlouni, 20, Rani Jihad Naim Rajabi, 18, Naim Abdul-Rahman Na’im Rajabi, 37, Jalal Robin Shweiki, 23, and Mo'tasem Faraj ‘Obeido, from his store in the center of Hebron city.

Media spokesperson of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, Mohammad Ayyad Awad, said the soldiers invaded the ath-Thaher and Bahar neighborhoods in the town, violently searched homes, and kidnapped four Palestinians.

Two of the kidnapped are former political prisoners, identified as Nabil Hammad Abu Mariya, 30, and Mohab Ibrahim Issa Bahar, 21.

The soldiers also kidnapped Mohammad Ayesh Abu Mariya, 17, and Mohannad Ayesh Abu Mariya, 15 years of age, in the town, and summoned their brother, Malek, only eleven years of age, in addition to Ahmad Khalil Hashem, 48, for interrogation in the Etzion military base.

Soldiers Kidnap Two Palestinians In Nablus, Three In Jenin

Media sources in Nablus said the soldiers have kidnapped three Palestinians from Deir Sharaf village, west of Jenin, after the army stormed their homes and violently searched them.

The kidnapped have been identified as Amir Mofeed Foqaha, Ibrahim Sa’id Nasser and Ibrahim Sobhi Nasser.

The soldiers also invaded Beta town, south of Nablus, and searched several homes.

Late on Monday at night, Israeli soldiers installed a sudden roadblock near Thaher al-'Abed village, west of Jenin, and kidnapped two young Palestinian men from Ya'bad village, southwest of Jenin.

Media sources said the soldiers kidnapped Ahmad Majd Amarna, 22, while heading back home in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem, and Ahmad Ezzeddin Amarna.

In addition, two Palestinians were shot and injured, and many suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation, during clashes that took place in the Jenin refugee camp, and Burqin town, after several military vehicles invaded them.

The soldiers also stormed and ransacked a few homes in the Jenin refugee camp, Jenin city, and Burqin town, and fired concussion grenades, gas bombs, rubber-coated metal bullets and several live rounds, at local protesters, causing many residents to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The soldiers also kidnapped two Palestinians, identified as Qais Mazen Sa’adi and Taher Jaradat.
