Attack took place at Gush Etzion Junction; victim, 19, in moderate condition.
Two Palestinian assailants tried to stab an Israeli man at the Gush Etzion Junction in the West Bank on Tuesday, and were shot by security forces.
According to medical teams, the victim, 19, suffered moderate wounds, and was taken to haare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
Soldiers from the Shimshon Battalion who were on a mission in the area approached two Palestinian men who they said raised their suspicion. As they questioned them, one of the suspects stabbed one of the soldiers. Another soldier fired at the men, killing the two.
Earlier Tuesday, a stabbing attack was averted when a police officer noticed two suspicious-looking youths in Jerusalem.
According to the police, a Jerusalem District Police officer was on his way to work when two suspicious-looking teens caught his attention near Tsahal Square, which is by the Old City of Jerusalem. The policeman watched the two as they observed passers-by, "probably in an attempt to track Jews," according to the police district's spokesperson. The policeman then approached the two and questioned them, while keeping a safe distance, and found they were carrying a bag with an axe and Stanley knife inside, the spokesman said.
The suspects are Palestinian teens aged about 16 or 17, from the A-Tur neighborhood of East Jerusalem, the police said, adding that they were arrested and taken in for questioning.

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Two Palestinians were shot and killed in the Gush Etzion settlement bloc south of Bethlehem on Tuesday after allegedly stabbing an Israeli soldier, Israel's army said.
An Israeli army spokesperson said a soldier was stabbed after Israeli forces approached two suspects at a bus stop by the Gush Etzion junction.
Israeli forces shot dead both suspects, and the 19-year-old Israeli soldier was evacuated for medical treatment to a hospital in Jerusalem.
The latest deaths bring the total number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces to at least 60 since the beginning of the month.
While around 30 of those killed were shot after allegedly carrying out attacks on Israelis, a number of alleged attacks have been disputed by Palestinian witnesses and investigations by rights groups, who say the suspects posed no threat at the time of their death.
