BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- An Israeli settler was critically wounded in a stabbing attack at the illegal Kiryat Arba settlement in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron on Thursday, Israel's army said.
A 25-year-old settler was stabbed at the western gate of the settlement, according to Israeli media. A Palestinian suspect fled the area and has not yet been detained.
The attack happened shortly after a Palestinian suspect stabbed four Israelis, including a soldier, in Tel Aviv. The attacker was shot dead at the scene and one of the Israelis was left with moderate injuries.
Earlier in the day, a Palestinian suspect was detained after an Israeli man was stabbed and injured near a main road in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, Israeli police said.
The incident was the latest in a series of stabbing attacks by individual Palestinians on Israelis in the past two days.
Four Israelis, including two settlers, have been killed in attacks by Palestinians since Oct. 1.
Two Palestinian teenagers have been shot dead at demonstrations, including a 13-year-old boy, while three Palestinian suspects in stabbing attacks have been shot dead at the scene.
Fadi Alloun, 19, from al-Issawiya village in East Jerusalem, was also shot dead by Israeli forces after an alleged stabbing attack an Saturday, although a video of his death showed he posed no threat at the time and was running away from a group of Israelis.
Israeli authorities say they taken efforts to curb the escalation in tensions that have spread outside of occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank since Wednesday night.
