RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Undercover Israeli forces dressed as Palestinian protesters detained three injured Palestinians during clashes that erupted near the Beit El settlement checkpoint, northeast of al-Bireh in the district of Ramallah on Wednesday, witnesses said.
The incident was captured on camera by multiple journalists.
The footage revealed Israeli forces, dressed as Palestinian protesters wearing clothes around their faces, appearing to join protesters in the clashes with Israeli forces. At least eight of the masked men then pulled out hand guns and moved to detain the group of Palestinians.
Two Palestinians were shot, beaten and detained during the undercover arrest raid, while another was beat and detained.
Israeli soldiers quickly joined the undercover forces to detain the youths.
An Israeli army spokesperson said the two Palestinians who were shot were taken to hospitals in Jerusalem after being treated by medics on the scene.
Reports suggest one of the youths is in serious condition.
A Red Crescent official said Palestinian medics were not able to access the youths, as they were detained by Israeli authorities.
Over 271 Palestinians were injured across the occupied West Bank on Wednesday as fierce clashes continued for the sixth consecutive day, including 84 by rubber-coated steel bullets, Red Crescent officials said.
While the total number of detained Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem is unknown,Israeli authorities have orchestrated mass detention raids in Palestinian towns following fatal attacks on four Israelis over the past week.
