Description
QALQILIA (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained 11 people across the West Bank overnight Tuesday, the army said.
A military spokeswoman told Ma'an that soldiers entered villages near Qalqiliya, Nablus, Ramallah and Hebron overnight and detained 11 people, who were taken for "security questioning."
Witnesses told Ma'an that troops raided Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqiliya, and detained Abbas Eshtewi, 18, Adham Eshtewi, 22, Ahmad Amer, 20, Fahed Omar, 22, and Yamen Obeid, 30.
Fatah spokesman in Qalqiliya Murad Eshtewi said troops detained a number of young men from Kafr Qaddum in September to suppress the weekly demonstration against the army's closure of the main entrance to the village.
Eshtewi added that Palestinians had the right to demonstrate peacefully for their rights.
Meanwhile locals in Qabalan and Awarta villages, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, said Israeli forces detained Sami Haitham, 22, and Jaber Awwad, 21, in overnight raids.
