RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- A report from the department of prisoner and ex-prisoner affairs said Sunday that 93 Palestinian children were jailed in Ofer prison, eight of whom are serving different sentences while the rest are yet to be sentenced.
Some 28 of these children suffer from different ailments, the department reported.
In May, 30 children were jailed in Ofer; four of them are under the age of 15. Eight others were shot and hurt during their arrests.
The report said a total of 161 minors were detained from the beginning of the year until the end of May, and they were ordered to pay fines totaling 178,000 shekels.
