Description
HEBRON (Ma'an) -- The Palestinian police and national security services arrested 18 wanted Palestinians from villages of Dura southwest of Hebron early Saturday.
Director of the Hebron district police Muhammad Taym told Ma'an that the arrests came under a campaign carried out targeting wanted Palestinians.
Taym added that some 20-30 names are added to the wanted list every day by courts across the district, and that the police was able to arrest 5000 wanted Palestinians in 2014.
Palestinian Authority security have been increasing efforts to crack down on crime across the West Bank. Despite professed targeting of criminals, critics have accused the security campaigns as protecting Israeli security over the security of the Palestinian citizen, and being politically motivated.
