Israeli forces abducted, overnight, nine Palestinians and summoned two children from various West Bank districts, according to reports by security sources and a local activist. In Tayasir, Israeli forces reportedly uprooted dozens of Palestinian-owned olive trees.

Soldiers raided Hebron city, where they detained two Palestinians after breaking into their families’ houses, WAFA correspondence reports. The detainees were identified as ‘Izzat al-Khatib, 21, and Shadi al-Hashlamon, 21.

Forces also raided Surif town, to the north of the city, where they detained a young Palestinian man after breaking into his family’s house. The detainee was identified as Yousef Jubran, 20.

Undercover Israeli forces and several military vehicles raided Beit Ummar town, also to the north of the city, where they proceeded to storm a house belonging to Muhammad Ikhlail, destroying the main door and ransacking it.

Local Coordinator of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements, Muhammad ‘Awad, said that forces inspected and damaged Ikhlail’s vehicle, seized a laptop and detained his son, Odai, age 27, who is a former prisoner.

Soldiers stormed several neighborhoods across the city, set up roadblocks at the entrances of Sa‘ir and Halhul, as well as the northern entrance of the city, where they stopped and inspected vehicles with Palestinian registration plates and examined passengers’ ID cards.

Meanwhile, in Jerusalem, police stormed a house belonging to Arafat Abu Isbeitan in Jabal Al-Zeitoun’s al-Tur neighborhood overlooking the Old City, where they summoned two children.

Isbeitan was served with an order summoning his two children Muhammad, age 12, and Ibrahim, 10, to appear before Israeli intelligence in West Jerusalem.

Police officers stationed at Bab al-Nather, which leads to Al Aqsa Mosque compound, detained a Palestinian woman while she was exiting the compound. The woman remains unidentified.

The incident occurred just shortly after Palestinian Muslim women attempted to confront groups of extremist settlers who stormed the compound from the Mughrabi Gate.

In Bethlehem, Israeli forces kidnapped a Palestinian young man after breaking into and ransacking his house in the Jabal al-Mawalih neighborhood. The detainee was identified as Yahya Jado, 29.

In the Jenin district, forces raided Qabatya city, to the south, where they broke into and ransacked two houses, in addition to interrogating the homeowners’ families. The home owners were identified as Barjas Hamamda and Mahmoud al-Shamsi.

They also conducted an extensive search operation in Ya‘bad town. No arrests were reported in the raids.

Furthermore, at the entrance of ‘Asira Ash-Shamaliya, to the northwest of Nablus, Israeli soldiers detained a young Palestinian man identified as ‘Adham Sawalma.

They also raided the outskirts of the town, where they took another Palestinian after breaking into his house. The detainee was identified as Muhammad Jawabra.

In the Gaza Strip, soldiers stationed at Beit Hanoun border crossing detained a Palestinian while on his way back to his home.

Muhammad Salah, age 54, was taken while crossing the border on his way back to home after receiving medical treatment in an Israeli hospital.

Also on Tuesday, forces uprooted dozens of Palestinian-owned olive trees in the northern West Bank town of Tayasir, east of Tubas, according to a local official.

Head of al-Malih village council Aref Daraghmeh told WAFA that a military force, along with staff from the civil administration and the so-called “Protection of Nature Society”, stormed the area of al-Sabih and uprooted olive trees.

Soldiers also removed the barbed wire that surrounded land belonging to local resident Anan Daraghmeh.

Israeli forces regularly target Palestinians and their property or simply provide protection to settlers conducting attacks on Palestinian lands; including the burning and uprooting of trees.

According to a United Nations OCHA report, Israeli settlers damaged over 5,500 Palestinian-owned olive trees and saplings in the period between December 30 2014, and January 12, 2015.

Though settlements are regarded as illegal by the international community, construction, expansion effort and further land theft continues in the oPt, unabated.
