International volunteers from the group Operation Dove were called at 7.30 a.m. on Wednesday by a family from the area village of Jawwaya, who stated that Israeli soldiers had raided the village and asked that the volunteers come to witness.
While walking on bypass road 317 to Jawwaya, the volunteers saw one man blindfolded and handcuffed with his hands behind his back, laying near an Israeli police vehicle. The detained man appeared to have been beaten on the face, and he was loaded onto a vehicle and taken away by Israeli soldiers.
The two international volunteers arrived to Jawwaya at 8.20 a.m., where they found Israeli soldiers and police searching local homes and tents, apparently looking for others. A soldier threatened one of the volunteers and attempted to steal a camera from the other.
Palestinian residents noted that the soldiers and police slahded large holes in a tent used as a shelter for animals and food, and they fired shots into the sky to intimidate the village residents. The Israeli force left the village at 8:45 a.m.
