HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces arrested 13 Palestinians in multiple detention raids in the southern and northern West Bank overnight Tuesday.

Local Beit Ummar committee member Muhammad Ayad Awad told Ma'an that Issam Muhammad Issa Bahar, 16, Mazin Talib Said Awad, 19, Muhammad Ayman Muhammad Ikhlayyil, 19, Ibrahim Khalil Abu Mariyya, 21, Amir Yousuf Azmi Ikhlayyil, 16, Mahmoud Suleiman Mustafa Ikhlayil, 18, and Muhammad Jamil Abu Mariyya, 18, were detained in the town.

One man was injured in the leg as Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters during the raid, while others suffered tear gas inhalation.

Israeli soldiers also issued summons orders to Imad Abu Hashim, 23, and his brothers Yousuf, 20, and Muhammad 18.

Another man, Yousuf Zaal, was attacked by Israeli forces as they raided his home to deliver a summons order to his son, Jihad. He was treated at the scene for his injuries.

In Jenin, Said Salih Hamamra, Salih Ali Mousa, his brother Mahmoud, Murad Abd al-Qadir Mousa, his brother Raed, and Bashir Shafiq Mousa were detained.

Israeli soldiers invaded several towns in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, kidnapped eight Palestinians, including children, wounded at least two, and handed five others military orders for interrogation.

Coordinator of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Hebron, Mohammad Awad, said dozens of soldiers invaded Beit Ummar, and kidnapped seven Palestinians after violently breaking into their homes, and searching them.

The kidnapped have been identified as ‘Issam Mohammad Bahar, 16, Mazen Taleb ‘Awad, 19, Mohammad Ayman Ekhlayyel, 19, Mahmoud Suleiman Ekhlayyel, 18, Amir Yousef Ekhlayyel, 16, Ibrahim Khalil Abu Dayya, 21, and Mohammad Jamil Abu Mariyya, 18.

The soldiers also invaded the home of Ahmad Khalil Abu Hashem, and handed him warrants for his sons, Emad, Yousef and Mohammad, ordering them to head to the Etzion military base for interrogation.

Resident Yousef Za’al ‘Alqam, said the soldiers stormed his home, and sprayed his eyes with pepper spray, before handing his son, Jihad, 18 years of age, a military order for interrogation.

The invasion into Beit Ummar led to clashes between the soldiers and local youths; the army fired gas bombs, concussion grenades and rubber-coated metal bullets.

A young man, 27 years of age, was shot by a gas bomb in the leg, and was moved to the Hebron governmental hospital. Many residents suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Soldiers also forced some young men out of their homes in the rain, and forced them to remove their clothes in order to search them.

One Palestinian, who remained unidentified, was kidnapped in the al-Karmel area in Masafer Yatta town, after the soldiers invaded and violently searched several homes.

The soldiers also invaded homes in Khirbit al-Jawaya village, and interrogated the families. The homes belong to Ahmad Barghash Shawaheen, Rasmi Nawaj’a, Ahmad Hammad Nawaj’a, and several other families.

In the al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of Hebron, soldiers invaded the home of Amjad Najjar, head of the Hebron office of the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS), assaulted his wife causing her to faint and refused to allow the family to give her water or help her.

The soldiers also confiscated computers, files of Palestinian political prisoners, and other equipment, and tore pictures of late President Yasser Arafat.
