Description
JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained 23 Palestinians in East Jerusalem late Sunday and early Monday, locals said.

Israeli special forces raided al-Issawiya, Jabal al-Mukabir, Ras al-Amud, al-Tur and Shufat refugee camp and detained 18 young men, including minors.

Walid Jadallah and Malik Basit were detained in Sur Bahir and 19-year-old Mutaz Kalghasi, 24-year-old Muhammad Abu Dalou and 25-year-old Zakariyya al-Hirbawi were detained in Wadi al-Joz.

In the Old City, Hanadi al-Halwani was arrested while leaving the Al-Aqsa mosque compound and a security guard at the holy site was also detained.

The latest arrests come amid a detention campaign against Palestinians in East Jerusalem following months of unrest after the kidnapping of three Israeli teenagers, the revenge killing of Palestinian teenager Muhammad Abu Khdeir, and Israel's five-week assault on Gaza, which killed over 2,000 Palestinians.
