Description
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Palestinian Othman Hassan, 24, died at the Israeli checkpoint of Nilin west of Ramallah on Thursday after suffering an injury in a game of soccer.

Hassan, a resident of Qibya village, was en route to be taken to the hospital by friends and family after he fell on his head during a game of soccer and swallowed his tongue.

The director of military liaison in the province of Ramallah and Jerusalem suburbs Nadi Haji told Ma'an that the group took him to the Nilin checkpoint at the Israeli separation wall where he was stopped, but no emergency services were available.

As a result of a deterioration in his condition, Israeli soldiers attempted to revive him, but efforts failed and the man passed away.

His body was transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah.
