BETHLEHEM, October 9, 2014 – (WAFA) – Israeli forces seized and leveled Thursday Palestinian-owned cropland in al-Khader to the southwest of Bethlehem, as a prelude to take over the land for the benefit of settlement expansion, said a local activist.

Israeli forces seized about three dunums of cropland belonging to al-Khader and located adjacent to the illegal Israeli settlement of Daniel, said Ghassan Njajra, an anti-settlement and wall activist.

Israeli bulldozers leveled the land and fixed two signs; the first reading ‘closed zone: entrance prohibited for the Arabs’ and the second declaring their intention to establish parks that would serve the settlement, added Najajra.

The Palestinian landowners had been served notices by the Israeli forces claiming their land is a ‘state property’, while approximately 900 dunums of cropland belonging to the Palestinian landowners from al-Khader, Nahhalin and Beit Ummar were seized about eight months ago.
