NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian in a village south of Nablus late Tuesday, security sources told Ma'an.

Palestinian security sources said Muntasir Nafei Mansour, 25, was shot by Israeli soldiers several times in the left foot after an argument broke out between him and the troops at a checkpoint at the entrance to the village of Burin.

Mansour was taken to Rafidia hospital in Nablus with moderate injuries, sources added.

Israeli forces also detained Mansour's brother, 22-year-old Nasr, and 19-year-old Baraa Yasi Hussein after the shooting.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said she would look into the incident.

Several Israeli military jeeps invaded, on Tuesday evening, the town of Burin, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, shot and wounded one Palestinian, and kidnapped two others.

Eyewitnesses said the soldiers installed a roadblock at the entrance of Burin town, and held several Palestinians while questioning them and investigating their ID cards.

They added that an argument took place between the soldiers and Palestinians held at the roadblock, before a soldier fired several rounds of live ammunition, wounding Montaser Nafe’ Mansour, 25, in his left leg.

The man was moved to the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus suffering moderate injuries.

The soldiers then kidnapped two Palestinians, including the brother of the wounded man. They have been identified as Nasr Nafe’ Mansour, 22, and Bara’ Yasser Hussein, 19.

Earlier on Tuesday at dawn, the army imposed a strict siege on Burin and declared it a closed military zone, allegedly after a number of Palestinians hurled stones at settlers’ cars driving on a bypass road near the village.
