Palestinian prisoner released after 20 years in Israeli jails

NABLUS (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian prisoner was released from an Israeli jail on Thursday after serving a 20-year sentence, the Palestinian Prisoner's Society said.

Said Khatatba, from Beit Furik in Nablus, was detained on July 19, 1994.

Dozens of local organizations and political factions welcomed Khatatba upon his release.

The PPS did not specify why Khatatba had been arrested.
