JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- A group of Israelis assaulted a Palestinian on his way to work and attempted to kidnap him in Jerusalem on Thursday, the man told Ma'an.
Ali Muhammad al-Abassi, 21, said he was on his way to work in West Jerusalem when a group of Israelis assaulted him.
Al-Abbasi said he got off the light rail when five or six Israelis attacked him from behind and sprayed pepper spray in his eyes.
The Israelis then tied his hands behind his back, threw him on the ground, beat him with their feet and fists, and burnt him with a lit cigarette, he said.
A Toyota Corolla then pulled up and the men tried to throw al-Abbasi in the trunk, but one of his coworkers passed by and the Israelis fled.
The coworker then took al-Abbasi to the hospital, where he received treatment.
Palestinians have reported numerous kidnapping attempts as well as mob attacks since early July.
In the most brutal attack, Muhammad Abu Khdeir, 16, was beaten and burned alive by Jewish settlers in East Jerusalem on July 2.
