Description
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian man near the Hebron village of Samu early Monday, locals said.
Munir Ahmad Badarin, 22, was shot in the abdomen and thigh during clashes with Israeli forces and died at a public hospital in Yatta.
Witnesses told Ma'an that Israeli forces at the scene denied paramedics access to the injured man for over 30 minutes.
Badarin's death is the first in the occupied West Bank since Israel's assault on Gaza began.
In Beit Ummar, Israeli forces shot and injured 21-year-old Mahmoud Yasser Muhammad Breghith in the leg and Mahmoud Nasser Juma Hitawi, 20, in the foot, a local committee official said.
The victims were treated at a public hospital for moderate wounds.
The shootings took place during clashes as protesters took to the streets to demonstrate against Israel's military offensive in Gaza.
Young Palestinians hurled stones, empty bottles, fireworks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli soldiers in the Asida neighborhood, with soldiers using live fire, rubber-coated bullets and tear gas canisters on demonstrators.
An Israeli army spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
