Pipes destroyed, graffiti sprayed at construction site in Shilo while owner was at rally for three kidnapped teens.
By Chaim Levinson for Haaretz
A resident of the Shiloh outpost in the West Bank discovered Monday morning that a site where he is building a house with the help of Palestinian laborers was vandalized.
The words "price tag" were sprayed at the site and pipes there were destroyed.
By contrast to the surrounding hilltop outposts, in the settlement of Shiloh residents employ Palestinian laborers who come in every morning to do construction work. Elyashiv Lavi is one of those residents.
"The sad part is that they did this while I was at Rabin Square [for a rally on behalf of the three kidnapped Israeli teenagers], where everyone was talking about unity," Lavi told Haaretz.
"I got a lot of shocked responses from people," he continued. "A forensics team came and I hope they catch the vandals. This only proves that 'price tag' is a very small, marginal group that harms us all – Arabs, soldiers and us, too."
Police investigating the attack put out a notice to Shiloh residents: "Whoever has any shred of information, please contact us as soon as possible. Whoever is familiar with criminals who commit acts like this, please apprehend them in any way possible!"
