[Thursday, June 19, 2014] Israeli soldiers kidnapped two Palestinian fishermen in Gaza waters, in northern Gaza, and a Palestinian patient at the Erez terminal, as he was heading to an Israeli hospital for treatment.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli Navy vessels attacked a Palestinian fishing boat, and kidnapped two fishermen, before taking them to an unknown destination.

The attack took place in Palestinian waters in the Sudaniyya area, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

The kidnapped fishermen have been identified as Ramez Sa’dallah and Ehab Sa’dallah.

Furthermore, soldiers kidnapped a Palestinian patient at the Erez Terminal, despite the fact he obtained all legal documents, hospital referral, and the required permit issued by the army.

The Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights stated that the kidnapped patient has been identified as Bassem Ali Tbeish.

The Center denounced the arrest, and said it is closely following the case, as the patient needs to be admitted to hospital to receive the needed medical treatment.

Israel frequently prevents Gaza patients, who suffer with severe conditions and serious illnesses, from entering the country for medical treatment, while the army and security forces even try to coerce the patients into becoming collaborators with the occupation in exchange for their medical treatment.

More than 400 patients, including infants and children, died due to Israeli neglect, many of them while awaiting Israeli permits to cross the border for medical treatment.
Also, Israeli attacks against fishermen in Gaza are constant, and have led to dozens of casualties, excessive property damage, and dozens of arrests.

On June 8, a Palestinian fisherman who was previously shot and critically injured by the Israeli navy, off the coast of the northwest part of the Gaza Strip, has died of his wounds today, according to media sources.

The 52-year-old Emad Salem died of his wounds, in the hospital, after being shot with live bullets by the Israeli navy while fishing in the officially recognized fishing zone off the coasts of Gaza. http://imemc.org/article/68047
