BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained 16 Palestinians in the West Bank in overnight arrest raids, locals and Israel's army said Monday.
Witnesses told Ma'an that over 25 Israeli military vehicles entered Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqiliya. Israeli soldiers ransacked homes in the village and detained 14 men.
Among the detainees were two officers in the Palestinian Authority security forces -- 30-year-old Mufid Barham and 32-year-old Muhyi Ishteiwi.
The twelve others detained in Kafr Qaddum were identified as Abd al-Latif Jumah, Raed Barham, Musab Ishteiwi, Raafat Barham, Anas Barham, Samir Barham, Jaafar Jumah, Bartb Jumah, Udayy Barham, Usayd Amir, Diyaa Jumah, and Abdullah Jumah.
One witness said Israeli soldiers physically assaulted 47-year-old Walid Kamil Barham while they detained his two sons Wisam and Anas.
An Israeli army spokesman said soldiers arrested 16 Palestinians overnight -- one in Arraba near Jenin, two in Asira al-Shamaliya, one in Duheisha refugee camp near Bethlehem, three in al-Fawwar refugee camp near Hebron, and nine in Kfar Qaddum.
He said soldiers found "32 flash-bang grenades" and "four bats" during raids in Kfar Qaddum.

[Monday At Dawn, May 12, 2014] Several Israeli military jeeps invaded various Palestinian communities in the West Bank district of Bethlehem, kidnapping one Palestinian as they searched homes and a masonry workshop.
Local sources said that dozens of soldiers invaded the Deheisha refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, violently searched several homes, and kidnapped one Palestinian.
The sources stated that the army kidnapped Ibrahim Yahia Da’amsa, 30 years of age, and took him to the Etzion military base for interrogation.
Soldiers also invaded the homes of Bassem Abdul-Rahman al-Hasanaat and Ali al-Afandy, and violently searched them.
The Radio Bethlehem 2000 has reported that the soldiers surrounded the area of the Bethlehem Central Market, near the Deheisha refugee camp, and prevented the residents from reaching it.
Soldiers also fired several concussion grenades at the Palestinians in an attempt to remove them from the area.
In addition, several military jeeps invaded Beit Fajjar town, south of Bethlehem, broke into and searched a masonry shop belonging to resident Amin Abu Ayyash.
The soldiers also invaded the al-Ma’sara village, south of Bethlehem, and violently searched the home of Hasan Breijiyya, coordinator of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bethlehem.
On Sunday, several Israeli military jeeps invaded al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, and detained two schoolchildren.
Ahmad Salah, spokesperson of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements in al-Khader, said the soldiers invaded a local school in the town, and detained Ibrahim Hasan Yousef Issa, 14, and Ramzy Hasan Mohammad Salah, 15.
