BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces early Wednesday detained six Palestinian men and a woman in overnight arrest raids, security sources and an Israeli army spokesman said.
Palestinian security sources told Ma'an that Israeli troops raided al-Asakra village east of Bethlehem and detained 23-year-old Salah Sami Asakra and 24-year-old Iyad Ali Asakra.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops raided the nearby village of al-Ubayyat, ransacked homes in the area, and detained 30-year-old Muazzaz Khali Ubayyat, locals said.
In the Hebron district, Israeli forces stormed Beit Ula and detained Yousef al-Akil and his 21-year-old sister Samirah al-Akil after ransacking their home.
Israeli troops also raided Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank and detained 20-year-old Rukun Jamal Nashrati, witnesses said.
An Israeli army spokesman told Ma'an that seven Palestinians were detained overnight -- one in Nablus, one in Qalqiliya, one west of Ramallah, two in Bethlehem, two in a village west of Hebron, and one in Hebron.
The spokesman said that soldiers "uncovered a sniper rifle and ammunition" in the home of one of those arrested in Bethlehem.
The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.

[Wednesday, April 30, 2014] Israeli military vehicles invaded various Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank, searched homes, and kidnapped several Palestinians.
Several military jeeps invaded Beit Ola town, in the Hebron district in the southern part of the West Bank, broke and into searched several homes, and kidnapped a Palestinian and his sister.
Local sources said the soldiers kidnapped Yousef al-‘Aker and his sister, Samira, age 21, and took them to the Etzion military base for interrogation.
Soldiers also invaded Ithna town, nearby, installing several roadblocks in Hebron city and at the entrances of the nearby towns of Sa’ir and Halhoul, where they stopped dozens of cars and interrogated the passengers while inspecting their ID cards.
Furthermore, soldiers invaded the Jenin refugee camp, in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, and kidnapped one Palestinian.
The Palestinian, Rokn Jamal Nashraty, 20, was kidnapped from his parent’s home after the soldiers violently invaded it, and searched it.
The Radio Bethlehem 2000 has reported that the soldiers also invaded the homes of Omar Abu al-Haija and Majd at-Tubassy, interrogating them and their families.
In addition, soldiers invaded the al-Asakra area, east of Bethlehem, searched homes and kidnapped two Palestinians identified as Salah Sami Asakra, 23, and Eyad Ali Asakra, 24. Both are former political prisoners.
Soldiers also invaded the al-Obeyyat area, east of Bethlehem, and kidnapped one Palestinian identified as Moazzaz Khalil Obeyyat, age 30.
They further invaded the home and searched the property of Hussein Obeyyat, who was killed by the army many years ago.
The soldiers installed several roadblocks in different parts of the occupied West Bank, stopped and searched dozens of vehicles and interrogated the passengers while inspecting their ID cards.
The assaults are part of daily violations and acts of collective punishment carried out against the Palestinians in different parts of occupied Palestine.
