HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained a young Palestinian man at the main entrance to the southern West Bank town of Beit Ummar north of Hebron Saturday night, a local spokesperson told Ma'an.
Atiyeh Fathi Muheisin Awad, 25 was waiting in his car for his brother at the entrance to Beit Ummar when Israeli soldiers approached him and forced him to step out, spokesman for Beit Ummar's local committee against settlement activities Muhammad Ayyad Awad told Ma'an.
Atiyeh and another man, 46-year-old Ahmad Khalil Abu Hashim, were held for more than two hours. The soldiers then released Abu Hashim and took Atiyeh into custody.
He was taken in a military vehicle to Etzion detention center.
An Israeli military spokeswoman had no information about the detention.
