BETHLEHEM, (PIC)-- The PA General Intelligence (the Mukhabarat) has summoned Palestinian journalist and political activist Ali Qaraqe’ for questioning.

GI officers handed Qaraqe’ a summons for questioning without explaining the reason for the summons.

Qaraqe’ said that he rejects such a practice by the GI in an entry he made on his page on facebook.

Quds Press reported on Thursday that Qaraqe’ said that he reject the PA policy of summoning citizens without giving a reason and said that the rights of all Palestinian residents, including journalists, should be respected.

Qarqe’ said that it was unreasonable that the PA security agencies summon Palestinian activists because of their political affiliation, or because they have written in their blogs something that the those agencies did not like, in addition to summoning journalists who are just going about their journalistic duties.

This the second time in less than a month that the PA security in the West Bank summon young journalists; the preventive security summoned Majdoleen Hassouna early Aughust and arrested two of her brothers to pressure her to attend at their headquarters.
