[Monday Morning, January 20, 2014] Israeli soldiers invaded various areas in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, demolished Palestinian property, including shops, and kidnapped two Palestinians.

Local sources have reported that dozens of soldiers invaded the Deir Samet town, southwest of Hebron, and demolished a scrap metal shop.

The army destroyed equipment, metal, and other supplies worth thousands of shekels before demolishing the property.

The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) said the shop that belongs to resident Salama Atallah Abu Zneid. He only received property destruction notices a few days ago.

Media sources in the town said that the store is not only in the heart of the town, but also far away from Israel’s illegal settlements or any of its military camps. It stood on two dunams of land.

Furthermore, soldiers demolished a number of walls and a store for electrical supplies that belonged to merchants near Beit Awwa town junction, close to a military tower installed at the entrance of the town.

The destroyed property belongs to resident Sufian Tawfiq Masalma and his brothers, WAFA added.

The army alleged that the destroyed property is located in area “C”, under full Israeli military control (Area C around 61% of West Bank).

Clashes have been reported between local residents and the invading soldiers; medical sources said nearly 15 Palestinians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

In related news, soldiers prevented villagers of the Um Al-Kheir village, near Hebron, from entering their lands and orchards, and kidnapped two shepherds.

The two shepherds have been identified as Husam Suleiman Al-Hathaleen, 16, and his brother Omar, 17. Soldiers also detained and interrogated several residents.

In related news, dozens of soldiers invaded a number of homes in Shuhada Street and Tal Romedia in the center of Hebron city.

Eyewitnesses said that soldiers violently searched the homes, causing property damage, and that the army used dogs in searching the property, terrifying the residents.
