Settlers Cut Olive Trees In Hebron

[Monday, January 13, 2014] Local sources have reported that a number of Israeli settlers cut down nearly 50 Palestinian olive trees, east of Yatta town, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

Rateb Jabour, coordinator of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements, stated that the settlers cut fifty olive trees belonging to resident Khader Al-‘Amour, in the Shweiha area.

Jabour added that Israeli settlers have recently escalated their attacks against the residents, their lands and property. in various areas east of Yatta, in an attempt to push the residents out of their lands.

Such attacks included writing racist graffiti on walls of a local home in Sinjil village, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, last Thursday.

Also on Thursday, eyewitnesses said that a settler child, approximately 12 years of age, sprayed the face of a Palestinian girl with chlorine, in Jerusalem, and fled the scene.

Settlers are responsible for hundreds of attacks against the Palestinians, their lands and property, in addition to repeated attacks against Islamic and Christian holy sites and cemeteries in different parts of occupied Palestine.
