Description
NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian home with two Molotov cocktails in Burin village south of Nablus on Tuesday, an official said.
Ghassan Daughlas, a Palestinian Authority official who monitors settlement activities in the northern West Bank, told Ma'an that several Israeli settlers threw two Molotov cocktails at the house of Ghassan Omran located in the eastern area of the village.
A fire broke out in most of the house, causing extensive material damage, but the owners were able to extinguish the fire before it destroyed the entire house.
More than 500,000 Israeli settlers live in settlements across the West Bank and East Jerusalem, in contravention of international law.
In 2012, there were 353 incidents of settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.
