Description
RAMALLAH (Ma’an) – Undercover Israeli agents abducted a Palestinian activist affiliated to the Islamic Jihad movement from the village of Beit Liqya west of Ramallah on Monday afternoon.

Witnesses told a Ma’an reporter that 24-year-old Muhammad Salih Badr was inside a shop owned by his family when an Israeli-plated car pulled over and four unidentified guys got out and surrounded him. They pointed out that the agents started to beat Badr before they abducted him at gunpoint and fled the scene.

The Israeli agents confiscated Badr’s laptop and a mobile phone, according to the witnesses.

Badr, according to locals, was released from Israeli jail 10 months ago after serving four-and-a-half years. They said he was a close friend of Muhammad Assi who was shot dead by Israeli forces near Bilin west of Ramallah.

Badr is currently studying English at Birzeit University.

An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed two arrests in the village.
