Description
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli authorities released a Palestinian prisoner due to recent medical tests that showed he suffered from leukemia, Palestinian Minister of Prisoners' Affairs Issa Qaraqe told Ma'an Wednesday.
The Palestinian Prisoners' Society said that the prisoner, 22-year-old Hassan Turabi from the village of Sura in Nablus, was sent to a hospital in the Israeli city of Afula for a medical procedure after spending eight months in Israeli jails.
Although Turabi cannot be transferred to another hospital due to his serious medical condition, PPS added, his family is allowed to visit him while accompanied by a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
PPS, along with the Red Cross, will be following up on Turabi's situation.
