JENIN (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces on Monday detained a Palestinian from Yabad village in Jenin district in the northern West Bank after raiding his family's house.
Security sources told Ma’an that Israeli forces detained Nour al-Din Abed al-Karim Atatra, 23, from Yabad village. They raided his family house and interrogated a number of Atatra family members. He was then taken to unknown location.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said that Atatra was arrested because he was "suspected of involvement in illegal activities."
Israeli military forces also raided nearby al-Yamoun and Sila al-Harithiya villages early in the morning and patrolled the streets of the villages. They also set up two military checkpoints at the entrances of the two villages and inspected the IDs of passersby. No detentions were reported.
Locals said that Israeli forces briefly detained Mohammad Tawfiq Dawasa, 24, at the entrance of Sila al-Harithiya. He was released an hour later.
On Sept. 29, Israeli forces raided the village of Yabad and fired stun grenades before razing olive orchards.
The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank forms a part has been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.
