Israeli soldiers kidnapped on Tuesday at dawn [September 24, 2013] eight Palestinians in different parts of the occupied West Bank.

The Al-Aqsa Foundation for Islamic Waqf and Heritage in Jerusalem has reported that the soldiers kidnapped the head of its media department, Mahmoud Abu Ata, and moved him to the Al-Maskobiyya interrogation facility in the city.

Clashes have also been reported in Al-Ezariyya town, southeast of occupied Jerusalem, after dozens of soldiers invaded it; at least one resident was injured by Israeli army fire.

Eyewitness said that the clashes took place after a number of soldiers ambushed four students of the Al-Quds University as they were leaving a fitness center at the entrance of the town; the army also kidnapped a student as he was leaving another fitness center in the town.

The witnesses stated that the soldiers fired dozens of gas bombs, rubber-coated metal bullets, and rounds of live ammunition at local youths who threw stones and empty bottles at them.

Furthermore, the Al-Aqsa Foundation said that dozens of Israeli extremists attempted to break into the yards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, but Palestinian worshipers managed to force them to leave.

Eyewitnesses said that a large number of Israeli extremists gathered near the Chain Gate, but could not advance any further.

Furthermore, soldiers kidnapped two Palestinians in Deir Estia village, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and four residents in ‘Aboud village, north of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

Clashes took place in the northern West Bank city of Nablus after dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded the city to allow Israeli settlers to pray at Joseph’s Tomb.

The soldiers sealed the area, and prevented the Palestinians from approaching it, leading to clashes with dozens of local youths.

Army also closed, and installed, various military roadblocks, searched dozens of vehicles and interrogated the residents.

Local sources said that the hundreds of soldiers invaded various areas in Nablus, including Balata, and fired dozens of gas bombs and concussion grenades at local youths who clashed with them.

Furthermore, dozens of soldiers invaded the Northern Mountain areas in Nablus.

Similar clashes took place after dozens of soldiers invaded Askar and Balata refugee camp, in the city.

Also in Nablus, extremist Israeli settlers burnt more than 30 olive trees that belong to residents of Sorra village, west of Nablus.

Soldiers also kidnapped one resident, identified as Kamal Saleh Shahin, 22, from the Old City of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

Clashes also took place in Sarta village, near the central West Bank city of Salfit, after a number of settlers invaded Palestinian lands, and uprooted them in an attempt to pave a road that links the settlement with a settler-only road in the area.

Media sources in Nablus stated that the settlers are trying to pave a 2-kilometer road that would link with the “Samaria Highway” designed to link Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank with Tel Aviv.

On Monday, extremist Israeli settlers burnt more than 350 olive trees that belong to villagers of Sorra and Tal, west of Nablus, and harvested Palestinians olive trees near the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
