Description
QALQILIA, May 20, 2013 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers Monday set fire to agricultural land east of Qalqilya, said an official.

Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activities in the north of the West Bank, said that the settlers from the illegal settlement of Havat Gilad set fire to wheat fields in the village of Amatin near Qalqilya.

He said that Palestinians, who attempted to put out the fire, clashed with Israeli soldiers who in return arrested one youth.

Daghlas warned of the repetition of settlers’ attacks in the area north of the West Bank, noting that settlers have taken setting fire to fields as a systematic act.

He called on the international community to intervene to stop such actions.
