JENIN (Ma'an) -- Undercover Israeli forces on Wednesday detained a Palestinian in Jenin in the northern West Bank.
Israeli forces in plainclothes surrounded a taxi at the entrance to Jenin and fired gunshots into the air before detaining Mohammad Zakarna, a Ma'an reporter said.
Zakarna, from Qabatia south of Jenin, is affiliated with the al-Aqsa Brigades, the military wing of Fatah.
On April 29, plainclothes Israeli forces raided a cafe in a village near Jenin and abducted the owner. Mahmud Alawneh was forced into a car at gunpoint by three men who pulled up to his internet cafe late at night.
Israeli intelligence informed Alawneh's family the next day that he was being interrogated at the Jalameh detention center.
Alawneh had brought legal action against the Israeli army after soldiers stole money from his home during a previous raid, his brother Nayif told Ma'an.
Also in April, undercover Israeli forces detained two Palestinians in Hebron and raided a wedding in the East Jerusalem suburb Issawiya.
