Friday April 26, 2013, media sources reported that Israeli soldiers kidnapped at least seven Palestinians, while dozens of residents have been treated for the effects of teargas inhalation, after the army invaded Silwad town, east of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

The sources said that the seven are from Silwad and the Al-Mazra’a Ash-Sharqiyya, and that the clashes extended to the entrance of Silwad where the army fired dozens of gas bombs leading to the injury of dozens of residents who were treated for the effects of teargas inhalation.

The seven kidnapped Palestinians are from Silwad and the Al-Mazra’a Ash-Sharqiyya as the residents were holding their nonviolent protest for the third week in a row.

Hundreds of residents from the east Ramallah villages of Ein Yabroud, Silwad, Dir Jareer, Al-Mazra’a Ash-Sharqiyya and At-Taybeh, held Friday noon prayers on Palestinian orchards and lands Israel intends to illegally confiscate in order to expand the Ofra illegal settlement.

The army attacked them with concussion grenades, gas bombs and rubber-coated metal bullets, leading to dozens of injuries, and kidnapped the seven Palestinians.
