Palestinian environmental scientists are studying the effects of air and water pollution from an Israeli-operated landfill site on communities east of Jerusalem in the West Bank. Hit hardest is the Bedouin encampment Wadi Abu Hindi, which is downstream from the aging Abu Dis landfill that remains open despite being ill-equipped to handle the waste.
