NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces demolished an electricity grid in Nablus on Wednesday, leading to clashes with local residents, a Palestinian Authority official said.
Israeli bulldozers arrived in the village of Qusra at noon and destroyed an electricity grid in the area, cutting off power to dozens of residents, PA official Ghassan Daghlas told Ma'an.
Local youths threw stones at Israeli forces, who fired tear gas and sound grenades at villagers, he added.
Several people were lightly injured.
An Israeli army spokeswoman did not return calls seeking comment.

8 Palestinians Injured during Confrontations in Nablus
NABLUS, February 20, 2013 (WAFA) – Eight Palestinians were injured Wednesday during clashes that erupted in Qasra village, south of Nablus, according to WAFA correspondent.
He said soldiers raided the village and wreaked havoc in it, leading to clashes between them and the Palestinians who tried to stop them from bulldozing the land where the electricity poles are.
The Israeli soldiers fired rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at the residents, causing several injuries; one of the injured, Odwan Odeh, was shot in the head.
Head of Al-Qasra council Abdul-Athim Wadi told WAFA that the Israeli soldiers destroyed tens of electricity poles leading to power outage.
