Several Palestinians Injured As Army Invades Beit Ummar

Earlier on Thursday, the army invaded Beit Ummar town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and kidnapped two residents identified as Nizar Ali Awad, 18, and Rafat Mustafa Awad, 15.

It is worth mentioning that Nizar was shot and injured, a few days ago, by a live round fired by an Israeli soldier, and was kidnapped today while still recovering from his injury.

Also on Thursday, several armored Israeli military vehicles and military bulldozers invaded central Gaza and bulldozed large areas of Palestinian lands.

Local sources reported that the army also fired rounds of live ammunition during the invasion, while military helicopter flew overhead.

Earlier on Wednesday the soldiers kidnapped four Palestinians, former political prisoners, in Beit Ummar, and clashed with local youths leading to several injuries.

On Wednesday evening, soldiers kidnapped three Palestinians from Al-Esawiyya neighborhood, in occupied East Jerusalem, while the Jerusalem District Court extended the remand of two Palestinians who were recently kidnapped by the army, and ordered the release of eleven Palestinians.

The kidnapped Palestinians have been identified as Monir Kayed Mahmoud, Mohammad Jamal Atiyya, and Ayman Awni Atiyya; they were taken prisoner after the soldiers violently broke into their homes and searched them.

The court also decided to keep one Palestinian in custody until this coming Sunday, to undergo further interrogation. He was identified as Rami Othman.

Another resident, identified as Fadi Mahmoud, will remain under interrogation until Friday, while two residents identified as Alaa’ Mahmoud and Khalid Dirbaas were released under bail.
