Description
[Note: Palestine Crisis Map seldom strays from our Category definitions. But in this case,we are making an exceptions as we believe soldiers entering schools in the manner described below violates children's sense of security in much the same way as raiding homes.]

AL-KHALIL (HEBRON):
Soldiers Enter the Playground at the Ibrahimi School
At 11:00 a.m. in 3 October CPT Office received a call from the Ibrahimi School to say that there were problems at the school and could they please get there quickly. Due to a Jewish Holiday the Mosque checkpoint was closed so the two CPTers had to take a taxi to get to the school. By the time they arrived the incident had finished.
An English teacher told CPT that twelve soldiers stormed into the playground on the pretense that a fat child from their school had thrown an empty bottle at the soldiers. The children were on their break and the soldiers harassed some of the children and said that if they had to they would detain all of the fat children until the child who had thrown the bottle confessed. They also harassed the Head Teacher and the Secretary and informed them that if the same thing happened tomorrow, soldiers would set up a checkpoint on the school’s roof.

Soldiers Terrorize Schoolchildren in Hebron
HEBRON, October 3, 2012 (WAFA) – A dozen Israeli soldiers broke into the Ibrahimi school in Hebron Wednesday terrorizing the children who were on their break, according to international activists.
The activists from the Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) who monitor Israeli acts in the occupied Hebron area said the soldiers claimed they were looking for a “fat” child from the school who allegedly had thrown an empty bottle at them.
“The children were on their break and the soldiers harassed some of the children and said that if they had to they would detain all of the fat children until the child who had thrown the bottle confessed,” the school’s English teacher told the activists from CPT.”
“They also harassed the head teacher and the secretary and informed them that if the same thing happened tomorrow the soldiers would set up a checkpoint on the roof of the school,” CPT added.
