Description
BETHELHEM, September 13, 2012 (WAFA) - A group of settlers Thursday took over a Palestinian-owned land and began planting it in the town of al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, according to a local activist.
Coordinator of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements Ahmad Salah told WAFA that a number of settlers took over a two dunums ( 1000 m2) piece of land belonging to Yousif Ghnaim in an area adjacent to the settlement of Efrat, built illegally on the town’s land.
Salah said that Israeli forces prevent Palestinian farmers from entering their land located near the settlement of Efrat without obtaining a permit from the security administrator of the settlement.
He added that Israeli forces have been targeting al-Khader through seizing hundreds of dunums of agricultural land and through establishing parks in several locations.
Salah called upon humanitarian organizations to immediately intervene to stop the Israeli policy in al-Kader and to allow farmers access to their land to harvest their grapes.
