Hunger striker in PA jail taken to hospital

18:00 Jun 2 2012 Nablus

Description
NABLUS, (PIC)-- Abdullah Al-Aker was transferred to hospital on Saturday night after his health deteriorated following nine days of hunger strike in Palestinian Authority jails in Nablus.

Hamas MPs in Nablus have asked the PA in Ramallah to display goodwill towards the reconciliation efforts and end political detention.

The hunger strike launched by Aker is a “bad omen” that point to the serious conditions of detainees held in PA jails, the lawmakers said.

The MPs asked all human rights groups, in a statement on Sunday, to act and demand the release of Aker and all political detainees.
