HEBRON, May 29, 2012 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday razed about 30 dunums of agricultural land, destroyed and confiscated its irrigation systems in al-Baqa'a, an area east of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, according to a local farmer.
Farmer Ata Jaber said that Israeli bulldozers, accompanied by Israeli forces and a staff from Mekorot, Israel’s national water company, destroyed about 30 dunums of land planted with vegetables, as well as the infrastructure of the irrigation system and confiscated its irrigation equipments.
cartographer and settlement expert Abdul Hadi Hantash said the Israeli forces’ targeting of this area comes as part of the Israeli policy that aims to seize its land for the benefit of expanding a nearby settlement.
