Israeli forces issued demolition notices Tuesday targeting several Palestinian homes and structures in Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank, while carrying out an incursion into the town and Qalandia refugee camp, as Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir invaded a facility belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Qalandia.

Media sources reported that Israeli forces invaded Kafr Aqab and Qalandia refugee camp, deploying throughout streets and neighborhoods before breaking into and ransacking a number of homes. Several Palestinians were subjected to field interrogations during the operation as military vehicles remained stationed throughout the area.

In a related development, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir invaded a UNRWA building in Qalandia and announced that Israeli authorities had begun a process aimed at evacuating the facility.

Israeli media had previously reported that authorities were preparing to demolish a UNRWA-affiliated building in occupied Jerusalem.

The latest measures form part of a broader Israeli campaign targeting UNRWA and its institutions in occupied Jerusalem.

The agency, established by the United Nations in 1949, provides education, healthcare, social services, and humanitarian assistance to millions of registered Palestinian refugees across the occupied Palestinian territories and neighboring countries.

Israeli authorities have in recent years intensified efforts against the agency, introducing measures intended to restrict its operations and limit its activities.

These steps have drawn widespread criticism from Palestinian officials and international organizations, which maintain that UNRWA plays a vital role in providing essential services to Palestinian refugees under its UN mandate.

The demolition notices and actions against UNRWA facilities come amid ongoing Israeli violations and polices in occupied Jerusalem, where Palestinian communities continue to face home demolition threats, restrictions on construction, and increasing pressure on local institutions.
