Israeli undercover forces infiltrated the town of Tammun, south of Tubas in the occupied West Bank’s northeastern area, before dawn on Sunday and opened fire on a Palestinian family’s vehicle, killing the father, mother, and two of their children, and injuring their other two children.

Local sources reported that an Israeli special unit entered the town shortly before 4 a.m., followed by large military reinforcements advancing from the Ein Shibli and Tayasir military roadblocks.

Moments later, Israeli soldiers opened fire at a civilian vehicle carrying members of the Bani Odah family.

Medical sources said the army killed Ali Khaled Sayel Bani Odah, 37, his wife Wa’ed Othman Aqel Bani Odah, 35, and their two children, Mohammad, 5, and Othman, 7.

Their other children, Mustafa, 8, and Khaled, 11, were injured by shrapnel in the head and face.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said the soldiers shot Ali in the head, face, chest, and left arm, and shot his wife Wa’ed in the face and head. Their slain children were also shot in the face and head. They were moved to the Turkish Governmental Hospital in Tubas.

Eyewitnesses told Quds News that the vehicle was ambushed inside the town and not at a military roadblock, and that no exchange of fire took place.

After killing the family, Israeli soldiers towed the bullet‑riddled Palestinian vehicle and took it to an unknown destination.

Residents said the car was struck by multiple rounds, consistent with targeted operations carried out by Israeli undercover units.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) stated that its medics were prevented by Israeli soldiers from reaching the wounded.

The crews were forced away at gunpoint and barred from approaching the vehicle for more than twenty minutes. When allowed to return, medics recovered the bodies of the four family members and evacuated the two injured children.

Al‑Jazeera Arabic reported that the family was returning home when the undercover unit intercepted their vehicle. The Israeli army later claimed it was conducting an “arrest operation,” but provided no evidence that the family posed any threat.

Tammun has faced repeated invasions by Israeli forces in recent months, often involving undercover units, drones, and armored vehicles. Residents say the Bani Odah family was well known in the town and not involved in any armed activity.

In a separate incident during the same invasion, Israeli forces abducted Mahmoud Hasan Bani Odah and his son Hassan after invading their home.

The killing of the family adds to the rising number of Palestinians shot and killed during Israeli military invasions across the northern Jordan Valley and Tubas area, where lethal force has been used with increasing frequency.

Also Sunday, illegal Israeli colonizers killed a Palestinian young man and wounded others on Saturday, after storming the village of Qusra, south of Nablus in the northern occupied
West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced the death of 28-year-old Amir Mu’tasim Mahmoud Odah, after Israeli settlers shot him with live rounds during confrontations in Qusra village.

On Sunday March 7, three Palestinians, Thaer Farouq Hamayel, 24, and Fares Jawdat Hamayel, 57, were killed after Israeli colonizers shot them both in the head with live ammunition after infiltrating Abu Falah village, northeast of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.

During the attack, a third citizen Mohammad Hassan Murra, 55, died after arriving to the hospital in cardiac arrest after being exposed to tear gas fired by occupation forces, while three others were shot with live rounds, one in the head, one in the pelvis, and another in the shoulder.

Since the beginning of the Israeli military aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, occupation forces and settlers have killed 1132 Palestinian citizens, and injured 10,483 in the occupied West Bank, including 232 children and 24 women.

In the Jenin governorate, 310 Palestinians have been killed, while 213 were killed in Tulkarem, 147 in Nablus, 110 in Hebron, 102 in Tubas, 85 in Ramallah, 62 in Jerusalem, 44 in Qalqilia, 36 in Bethlehem, 15 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, and 8 in Salfit, according to the Shireen Observatory.

Israeli Forces Fatally Shoot Palestinian Father, Mother and Two Children in West Bank

Ali Bani Odeh, 37, his wife and two of their children, 5 and 7, were killed in the West Bank's Tammun when Israeli forces fired on their car. Two other children survived the attack. The Justice Ministry unit responsible for investigating police misconduct has opened a probe into the matter

A father, mother, and two of their children were killed overnight into Sunday by Israeli forces' fire in the West Bank town of Tammun, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

Ali Khaled Bani Odeh, 37; Waad Othman Bani Odeh, 35; Othman, 7, who reportedly had special needs and was blind; and Mohammed, 5. Two other children, Mustafa, 8, and Khaled, 11, were lightly wounded by shrapnel.

The Justice Ministry unit responsible for investigating police misconduct opened a probe into the incident on Sunday.

Khaled, the oldest child to survive the incident, said that the six family members were in their car as they were shot. Two of his brothers were killed on the spot, and his father and mother died shortly after.

Khaled shared that an Israeli soldier removed him from the vehicle after shooting. "He said, 'We killed some dogs,' removed me from the vehicle and beat me," Khaled said. "After that, they took me to a Jeep and searched me. They asked me, 'who was with you in the car?' When I said, 'my mother, father and brothers,' he started yelling at me, calling me 'liar, liar.'"

Local residents said an Israel Defense Forces special unit entered Tammun in a vehicle with Palestinian license plates, followed by reinforcements from nearby checkpoints. According to them, the family had been returning from Nablus after shopping for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday at the end of Ramadan when an Israeli force stopped their car and opened fire.

The IDF and Israel Police said the car accelerated towards the Israeli forces, who felt endangered and open fire.

The family's relative, Magdi Bani Odeh, told Haaretz: "The army's version that the father accelerated is completely absurd. A father with a mother and four children – who would accelerate? Especially since it was a covert unit in a Palestinian-plated car. This is cold-blooded murder." The IDF and Border Police did not deny the report that the car from which the Israeli forces fired had Palestinian license plates.

Witnesses said the father was shot multiple times, and said Khaled attempted to shield his brother Othman, who was killed. Khaled sustained a head injury from shrapnel. Their 8-year-old brother Mustafa, who also survived the ordeal, was wounded by shrapnel.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said the wounded and the bodies of the deceased were taken to the Turkish Hospital in nearby Tubas.

Residents also reported that the IDF confiscated the vehicle in which the four family members were killed.

The Red Crescent reported Saturday that a 28-year-old Palestinian was killed by Israeli settler gunfire in Qusra, near Nablus.

Witnesses said masked settlers threw stones at homes and vehicles, attempted to enter houses, and broke windows. The attackers reportedly came from an outpost established earlier this year in Area B near Qusra.

Rights groups and medics have said Israeli settlers are increasingly attacking Palestinians, while movement restrictions and roadblocks have slowed ambulance access.

About a week earlier, three Palestinians were shot dead in the village of Kharbat Abu Falah by Israeli settlers who had come to advance an outpost. In the same week, a resident of Wadi al-Rahim near Hebron and two Palestinians from the village of Qariyat south of Nablus were also killed during settler raids. In both cases, the shooting suspects were IDF reservists, and the military police opened investigations.
