Israeli forces issued a notice on Tuesday ordering the removal of a two‑kilometer electricity network in the western part of Ethna, west of Hebron, a move that would cut power to the Bir al‑Balouta area and intensify pressure on residents living near the Annexation Wall.

Ethna Mayor Jaber Tmeizi said the military delivered an order demanding the dismantling of the line that supplies electricity to homes and farmland west of the town.

He noted that the measure fits into a broader effort to restrict Palestinian presence in the lands adjacent to the Wall, where residents face ongoing bans on construction, cultivation, and access to their property.

According to Tmeizi, the order is part of a sustained campaign aimed at emptying the area and preparing it for further land seizure.

Removing the electricity network, he said, would directly harm families, disrupt agricultural work, and block any future development in a zone already under threat.

The town has faced escalating pressure in recent days. Farmers working near the Wall have been repeatedly pursued, and on Monday two residents were shot with live ammunition.

At the same time, Israeli authorities have seized additional land in eastern Ethna to expand colonial infrastructure and link a newly established colony with the existing Adora illegal colony, part of a wider plan to create continuous colonial control south of Hebron.

Municipal officials warned that the new order deepens the humanitarian and economic strain on the community and reflects an ongoing strategy to reshape the area’s geography at the expense of its Palestinian residents.
