Israeli forces carried out multiple attacks across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, killing three Palestinians in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood of Gaza City, while three women from the same family died when their damaged home collapsed in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.
The incidents reflect a continuing pattern of Israeli violations of the “ceasefire” announced on October 11, as well as the deepening humanitarian catastrophe caused by the ongoing genocide.
Medical teams in Gaza reported that one man was killed when an Israeli drone fired an explosive device at a group of residents in Shuja’iyya.
Shortly afterward, two more Palestinians were killed when Israeli aircraft targeted an area near the Al‑Shawwa fuel station on Al‑Mansoura Street.
Earlier in the morning, three women from the Lubbad family were killed when their home collapsed in Sheikh Radwan.
The victims were identified as Eman Lubbad, Jena Akram Lubbad, and Sundus Mohammad Lubbad, while two other family members remain missing.
Their home had been severely weakened by months of Israeli bombardment, and heavy winter weather caused the already‑damaged structure to give way.
Civil defense crews say dozens of homes have collapsed in recent weeks due to a combination of earlier airstrikes, structural instability, and storms, leaving families trapped under rubble or forced to live in unsafe buildings.
Residents say they have little choice but to remain in damaged homes because of the catastrophic humanitarian situation, the destruction of thousands of residential units, and the lack of alternative shelter.
Many families have been displaced multiple times and are unable to find safe housing as winter conditions worsen.
In southern Gaza, Israeli aircraft launched additional strikes east of Khan Younis, including in the Bani Suheila area, while Israeli military vehicles opened fire toward eastern neighborhoods of the city.
Israeli naval forces also fired on Palestinian fishing boats off the coast of southern Khan Younis, further restricting access to the sea and worsening already dire economic conditions for fishermen who have been unable to work for months.
With the killing of the three Palestinians in Shuja’iyya, the number of Palestinians killed since the “ceasefire” took effect on October 11 has risen to 404, with 1,108 injured.
Despite the declared ceasefire, Israeli forces continue to carry out drone strikes, artillery fire, and naval attacks across the Strip, creating a climate of constant fear for residents attempting to rebuild their lives.
Since the start of the genocide on October 7, 2023, at least 70,669 Palestinians have been killed and 171,165 injured, with tens of thousands still missing beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings.
The majority of the dead are women and children, and humanitarian agencies warn that the combination of ongoing military violations, winter storms, and the collapse of damaged homes is creating a rapidly worsening emergency for displaced families.
Aid organizations continue to report severe shortages of shelter materials, medical supplies, fuel, and clean water, while reconstruction remains impossible under current conditions.
Residents say they are trapped between the threat of renewed attacks and the dangers posed by unstable buildings, flooding, and freezing temperatures, with no safe place to go.
